News of a potential return of Michel Platini to Juventus management, specifically as President, launched by football analyst and informed Bianconeri fan Francesco Oppini on social media, has generated significant interest. Oppini clarified that this is not yet a done deal, but a concrete idea currently being explored. At a time when fans desperately need certainty and good news, such an indication can warm even the coldest hearts.
Oppini spoke this morning to RBN Cafè on Radiobianconera, addressing the Platini question directly. He stated, “It`s nothing sensational, just the reality that several colleagues are discussing. Elkann has realized that this Juventus has lost all national and international appeal. He`s understood that we`ve returned to a low level, similar to the post-Calciopoli era, in terms of management and personality.”
The crucial question, according to Oppini, is: “Who are we sending to UEFA or the League to speak on our behalf? Let`s be clear about this.” He continued, “How do we rebuild a Juventus that once again holds certain importance? By bringing in figures who can carry weight in these situations. This is where Platini would be the primary suspect, and Elkann would want him as President.”
Oppini notes, “As of today, he has reservations and is not very convinced by this proposal. This is the man who always had a great relationship with the Agnelli family. He has no type of contact with the current management or with the Elkann family.”
“It depends on how they can convince him, and he also has quite a strong personality,” Oppini added. “But that`s exactly what`s needed. Entering the League or UEFA with him is not the same as doing it with Scanavino and Giuntoli.”
Regarding other changes, Oppini commented on Calvo: “Calvo? One is gone. It`s the beginning of what needs to be done at this Juventus. Last year, he supported Marotta in the League, and it seemed to me like wanting to side with the powerful forces. You can`t become friends with the enemy; I didn`t like that.”
