Claudio Onofri has known Thiago Motta since his Genoa days, not just from coaching him for a few months, but from when Motta grew in Liguria before achieving even greater success by winning the Triplete with Inter. Claudio Onofri personally appreciated Thiago Motta as a coach also in Paris, where he gained experience in PSG`s youth ranks, culminating in his breakthrough with Bologna. For Claudio Onofri, Motta`s arrival in Turin was the rightful culmination of a young and promising coach`s journey. Guest on Radiobianconera`s RBN Cafè program this morning, the historical figure of the Rossoblu club commented on the recent events involving the former Juventus coach. `In football, if you do well, you are judged well, if you do poorly, you are judged poorly, especially in Italian football. There are nuances that are sometimes not considered. I don`t perfectly know what is happening within the club or the team, but at the beginning of the season, for me, top professionals like Giuntoli, Michele Sbravati, and indeed Thiago Motta arrived in Turin. I had the impression that Motta had always had a clear plan for his team in mind. Football is too complicated to simplify; we are talking about Juventus and a result that is yet to be achieved. Decisions are made not only based on the final judgment. I knew him personally; he is talked about as someone difficult character-wise, but that has never been my impression.`

What didn`t work out in the end? I expected something different from what I saw watching Juventus games: it didn`t seem like a team coached by Thiago Motta, I was also disappointed. I`m not changing my opinion because he was dismissed, I understand that the decision was made because results are not coming, not only numerically but also in terms of gameplay. I repeat, at the beginning of the season I thought that given the additions made to the club, Juventus could easily compete for the Scudetto`.
