Frank Schmidt has decisively addressed and put an end to all speculation regarding his future as the head coach of the Bundesliga club 1. FC Heidenheim. «I dislike it when such matters are left unresolved, and I believe it’s time to send a clear signal,» Schmidt stated. Referring to his contract, which runs until the summer of 2027, he added: «I can confirm here and now that I will fulfill my contract and remain with FCH.»

Schmidt has been at the helm in Heidenheim since 2007. However, recent speculation about a potential summer departure had surfaced, particularly in light of the club’s seemingly inevitable relegation. «I have never stated that I would leave, but naturally, a situation like this does have an impact on you,» Schmidt admitted. «But you can rely on me; I will remain Heidenheim’s coach and will see my contract through.»

The 52-year-old explained, «I want to achieve success again, and the thought of navigating the next year and tackling it together is what truly drives me.»
