Casemiro’s contract with Manchester United will not be extended, but a move to Brazil is likely not on the cards for the midfielder just yet.
Inter Milan is reportedly interested in acquiring Casemiro on a free transfer, as his current contract with Manchester United is set to expire this summer.
Casemiro is currently completing his fourth season with the Red Devils. However, the club has decided against exercising the option to extend the 34-year-old’s contract for another year. The departure of the Brazilian, who joined from Real Madrid in 2022, was officially confirmed two months ago.
Beyond Inter, clubs from Saudi Arabia and the USA are also rumored to be interested in the Brazilian. Nevertheless, Casemiro apparently envisions his immediate footballing future in Europe. Italy’s Serie A is traditionally a league where experienced stars conclude their careers, much like Luka Modrić, Casemiro’s former Real Madrid teammate, who has been playing for AC Milan since last summer and continues to impress even at 40 years old.
Casemiro: ‘In England, I’m a Red’
In a farewell video shared by United, Casemiro expressed his profound affection for his current club: «I will carry this club in my heart for the rest of my life. I will always be a Manchester United fan, and my family too. In England, I’m a Red. Manchester United until death. All I want to say is: Thank you for everything!» he stated.

He boasts 82 international caps with eight goals and is widely expected to participate in the upcoming World Cup this summer (likely referring to the 2026 tournament) in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
