Pirlo: This is a work in progress

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo talked to the media after his team’s 2-2 draw against Roma.

“I knew this game would be very different to the one against Sampdoria as they’re very two different teams.”

“The performance wasn’t as good as last week, it’s a step back actually, but this is a work in progress.”

“We had no time and no friendlies to test things out'”

“We were behind twice and we had a red card, so looking at all the circumstances, it’s a point gained.”

“Roma are a very organized team, we wanted to make the most out of our 1-vs-1 situation but things didn’t go as well as we wanted.”

“Unfortunately you can’t test these situations in training, you have to play games to do that.”

Bentancur? “He played too much last season and ended up exhausted. He’s been doing individual training to get back to form, he’s important to us.”

Artbur? “He needs time to adapt to the new league and our style, he’s also been inactive for a long period.”

“We certainly have a great room of improvement. Today we got many movements wrong and we failed to find spaces, so things didn’t go as we wanted.”

Inter has a better squad than us? “They had a great mercato, I don’t know if they have better players than us but we will give it all untill the end.”

Ronaldo? “He’s happy, he’s doing well, he helped his teammates tonight but unfortunately he didn’t get the chance to score a freekick.”
