Nesta on Facing Juventus: ‘They have a lot to play for and will be fired up; we need courage’

Alessandro Nesta held a press conference ahead of Monza`s Serie A match against Juventus, scheduled for Sunday, April 27th at 6:00 PM. Here are key statements from the coach:

Nesta emphasized the significance of the upcoming fixture. “We are facing a team with a lot on the line,” he stated. “They are coming off a tough loss in Parma and will be desperate to react and win. For our part, we need to perform with the same focus, courage, and organization we showed against Napoli. We`re heading to Turin aiming for a similar performance. We desperately need points to move up the table. There`s a negative record we hope to avoid extending. Juventus is a strong side, they will be fired up and playing in a very passionate stadium. We must be smart and understand the different phases of the match.”

Asked about Juventus coach Igor Tudor, Nesta commented, “As a player, he was tough, physically imposing, and quiet. His team`s playing style resembles Atalanta`s approach – they try to mark man-to-man across the pitch and apply high pressure. Gasperini pioneered this style, and many others have adapted it. Tudor is doing good work.”

Reflecting on the season, Nesta said, “This season has taught me a great deal; I`ve tested myself against Italy`s top teams. It`s been a somewhat mixed season, but I have no regrets, and I must learn from it. I`ve met many people and challenged myself; coming here was not a mistake. This path is common for many coaches; we were called back, but I stand by my decisions. I haven`t met the ownership directly but communicate with Galliani. I respect everyone`s decisions; my focus is always on getting results, regardless of how much contact I have with others.”
