The **Friedkin family**, who took control of Everton Football Club last December, has brought in a new partner to their ownership structure. **Jason Kidd**, currently the head coach for the NBA`s Dallas Mavericks, has become part of Roundhouse Capital Holdings, an entity associated with the Friedkin Group.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Kidd issued a statement through Everton, saying: “I am honored to join the Everton ownership at such a significant time. With a new stadium on the horizon and a bright future ahead, it`s a great moment to become part of the group.”
Kidd, age 52, had a distinguished playing career before moving into coaching. He won an NBA championship with the Mavericks in 2011 and earned two Olympic gold medals playing for the USA national team.
His coaching path included stints with the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks before he took the lead at Dallas in 2021. Commenting on the addition, Everton`s Executive Chairman, Marc Watts, stated, “As one of the greatest NBA players and now a successful coach, his knowledge and winning mentality will be an incredible asset to Everton.”
Everton, currently placed 13th in the Premier League standings, is preparing for a significant move. The club is set to transition from its longtime home, Goodison Park, to the brand-new Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock for the upcoming season. This cutting-edge facility, constructed at a cost nearing one billion euros, will boast a capacity of 52,888 spectators and features steeply angled stands designed to position fans closer to the action on the pitch.
