Nations League: Portugal Beats Spain on Penalties

Portugal triumphed over Spain in the Nations League final held in Munich, winning the match on penalties. The decisive spot-kick was converted by Ruben Neves, securing a 5-3 shootout victory for the Portuguese side after the game finished 2-2 following both regular time and extra time.

Portugal had to come from behind twice during the match. Spain took the lead in the first half with goals from Zubimendi and Oyarzabal. However, Portugal managed to equalize first through Nuno Mendes, making it 1-1, and then later in the second half courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted his 138th international goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo, despite leaving the field late due to cramps, was able to lift the trophy, adding another title after their victory in the inaugural 2019 edition. The highly anticipated Spanish youngster, Lamine Yamal, had a quieter game than expected, allowing the 40-year-old Portuguese veteran to dominate the spotlight.
