Massimo Moratti, the former president of Inter Milan, recently shared his thoughts on the program Radio Goal on Kiss Kiss Napoli.
Reflecting on the historic day of the Triplete victory, Moratti stated, “I was enthusiastic, but I also had the feeling that the sensation was different from what you expected. You achieved a result you thought would be more difficult.” He added a philosophical note, suggesting that reaching what seems impossible can sometimes diminish the immediate happiness slightly. According to him, as soon as you win, the focus should immediately shift to what comes next.
Turning to the present, Moratti expressed surprise at the continued discussion surrounding the Triplete within Inter today. He contrasted this with his time as president, noting, “In my time, we never spoke about the Triplete beforehand. When we won, we realized it was a Triplete. It wasn`t an obsession.”
He also acknowledged the disappointment caused by the recent Coppa Italia defeat.
Analyzing the current state of the team, Moratti feels that Inter has suffered from a “confusion of objectives” and appears “a bit tired.” Consequently, he believes that Napoli now possesses greater potential, asserting that this increased possibility is “all linked to Conte,” likely referring to the recent appointment of Antonio Conte as Napoli`s coach.
