Mohamed Salah’s Next Chapter: PSG, Bayern Munich Offers Claimed by Egypt Coach, MLS Move Advised Against

Egypt national team manager Ibrahim Hassan has revealed that Mohamed Salah has reportedly received offers from Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. Hassan also strongly advises Salah against a transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) after his departure from Liverpool this summer.

The 59-year-old former professional player, who serves as the Pharaohs’ team manager, commented on Salah’s future, stating, «Personally, I would prefer him to stay in Europe. I’ve heard there are offers from Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and clubs from the Italian league.»

While there have been loose speculations linking Salah with PSG and Bayern in recent years, these rumors never fully materialized. Furthermore, both top clubs from France and Germany are currently well-stocked in Salah’s position, and at 33 years old with a hefty salary, the forward does not entirely fit the typical profile for these clubs.

Hassan Against Salah’s Move to MLS

Salah announced his departure from Liverpool last week, leaving the English club after nine successful seasons, one year before his contract was due to expire. The destination for the 113-cap Egyptian international remains unconfirmed.

Rumors also suggest a potential return to Serie A, where Salah previously played for Fiorentina and Roma. Reports over the weekend indicated discussions about a return to AS Roma, although Salah’s high salary is considered a significant hurdle.

Transfers to the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer are also being speculated. MLS Commissioner Don Garber has already publicly expressed interest in the player.

However, for Hassan, a former 125-cap Egyptian international and twelve-time national champion, a move to the North American professional league would be a poor step towards sporting irrelevance. He remarked, «He would be far from the limelight there. No one would remember Salah more than I currently remember Lionel Messi. And with him, I don’t even try to watch his games anymore.»

In his time with the Reds, Salah has amassed an impressive record of 255 goals and 112 assists in 435 appearances, placing him third on Liverpool’s all-time goalscorer list. Overtaking Roger Hunt (280 goals) for second or Ian Rush (339 goals) for first place is now unlikely.

Salah is set to bid farewell at Anfield on May 24th, during the final matchday of the Premier League season.
