Former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi has weighed in on the heated competition for Champions League qualification in Serie A. In his editorial for Libero, Moggi noted that the race for fourth place is “extremely intense.” He highlighted that three teams – Juventus, Lazio, and Roma – are all tied on 63 points, with Bologna closely behind on 62, creating a tight battle for the coveted spot.
Commenting on Juventus`s recent 1-1 draw away at Bologna`s Dall’Ara stadium, Moggi observed that the team defended well. He controversially added that, in his view, the team “at least shows those attributes under Tudor that remained in the changing rooms with Motta.” Moggi also mentioned Lazio`s confident 1-0 victory over Empoli at the Castellani, and “Ranieri`s Roma” continuing their surprising positive streak by beating Fiorentina 1-0 at the Olimpico. According to Moggi, this result extends Roma`s long period of good form, culminating in a significant 15-point recovery that has propelled them into the Champions League contention.
