Mauro: “Motta Exaggerated, Juventus Much Improved with Tudor”

Mauro: "Motta ha esagerato, con Tudor Juventus molto migliorata"

Former Juventus player Massimo Mauro visited Continassa today, also to support an initiative in memory of Gianluca Vialli. Speaking exclusively to TMW, he explained: `Juventus was very thoughtful in placing a light installation for Gianluca with quotes from his book. And through my foundation, they funded research on ALS. Dr. Scanavino offered us coffee, and we reminisced about Gianluca.`

`There`s something in the works, but we`ll discuss it in due time.`

`I was happy to greet Giuntoli and other staff I`ve known for a long time, like the administration ladies, but I didn`t see the team. I caught 5 minutes of training, just a glimpse.`

`Much improved. In the first half against Roma and Lecce, we saw a Juventus that was both attractive and effective. The second halves were more challenging, but overall, things look better than a month ago. When you change coaches, it`s because you felt something wasn`t working. Clearly, the players have changed something because they are the ones on the field. There`s no doubt Tudor has made two or three useful adjustments.`

`In a big team, everything is the result of many people`s work, the quality, and the environment. Every club suffers after a significant change. Consider Inter, Milan, post-Boniperti Juventus, and post-Ferlaino Napoli. All needed time to rebuild. Juventus changed 10-15 players in the summer, so time was necessary. Thiago Motta exaggerated a bit, not respecting the established rules in football management. From a management perspective, if you change many players, perhaps don`t do it disregarding the rules. I don’t doubt he’s a good coach; he had great experience as a player and on the bench. The season started badly and ended worse; it happens. But I liked Tudor a lot; he knows the environment well, and it was certainly easy for him to fit in.`
