During the program Maracanà on TMW Radio, former footballer Massimo Donati shared his perspective on the current football landscape.
Inter, should they rotate the squad in these final two matches or rely on their key players?
Donati stated, “I don`t think it`s appropriate to talk about `second string` players. Surely, any player Inzaghi decides to use offers significant assurances; otherwise, he would think twice. Now, being just one point behind Napoli, it wouldn`t be right to focus solely on the Champions League final, whose outcome is uncertain. Inzaghi knows well how to manage the situation for this final push.”
For Napoli, will not having Lobotka against Parma be difficult?
“He`s a top player; when someone like him is missing, you lose something,” Donati replied. “Gilmour is capable, but I don`t believe one player alone makes *that* significant a difference. The team needs to push hard with all available players right now. Even when Lobotka is absent and everything else is functioning… Conte is very skilled at managing anxiety in these situations anyway.”
Regarding the Scudetto race, how do you see it unfolding now?
“Neither Inter nor Napoli has a friendly match to play,” Donati emphasized. “The team that performs better will prevail. It`s a decisive matchday; the risk of making a mistake is present, but we`ll see who succeeds.”
With Atalanta qualifying for the Champions League again, do you believe Gasperini will stay?
Donati commented, “That`s a great achievement. His contract includes another year. He has Champions League football again, so I don`t see why he would leave. It`s possible he might not renew, but that doesn`t necessarily mean he will depart immediately.”
