MILAN – Inter president Giuseppe Marotta has strongly denied any possibility of the club facing bankruptcy. Speaking at the event `Il Foglio a San Siro`, Marotta dismissed such talks as mere `word games` fueled by what he perceives as a prevailing `Italian culture of envy`.
“Inter winning or failing? Failing is a harsh word,” Marotta stated. “Many things are said about us, it`s part of the Italian concept of the culture of envy. Whoever wins carries this concept, which is wrong. We have never risked bankruptcy, we have a financial exposure that we control very well, we have no other debts to suppliers and banks, otherwise we could not have been registered.”
Marotta emphasized the club`s financial stability and adherence to regulations. “We have financial and economic parameters to respect, we have never incurred fines. We regularly pay all debts and contributions. There is a common misconception of confusing the difficulties above our heads with the ordinary management of Inter,” he concluded.
