During the «Serie C business value» event, Inter President Giuseppe Marotta shared his insights on former Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, with whom he previously worked.
Marotta noted that while individual awards like the Ballon d`Or are typically given to attacking players, there are exceptions like Chiellini. He described Chiellini as a «gritty defender» and a «great champion.»
«I worked with Giorgio,» Marotta stated. «His human, professional, and leadership qualities must be highly valued – he possessed them.»
He further emphasized that a player solely focused on scoring goals and performing well only on an individual level does not truly contribute to the overall success of the team.
