`Flash! What were Italian Football Federation president Gravina, Inter president Marotta, FIGC legislative office head Viglione, and Nerazzurri club lawyer Angelo Capellini doing at dinner last night at `The Wilde` in Milan? We don`t know, but Juventus fans will be pleased…`.
This sensational news was released two days ago.
The incident has not yet been clarified by those involved, inevitably fueling controversy and suspicion. Adding further shadow to this mysterious dinner between Inter and FIGC leadership is a significant detail: the location of the meeting. Apparently, it`s not just any restaurant.
A recent article described the location: `It`s called The Wilde, the new member`s club in Milan, and despite the name, there`s nothing wild about it. Instead, at Via dei Giardini 16, you breathe that air of exclusivity typical of an English club, with its fine-dining, good-drinking, slow-cigar-smoking, but in a much more contemporary and very-very-hype style. Who conceived it? Gary Landesberg, famous for launching the renowned The Arts Club in London and Dubai – reads the financial newspaper -. (…) And if the Arturo cigar lounge, all in brown leather, is particularly appreciated for its warm atmosphere; the library, so private and quiet, has already become Milan`s favorite place for secret handshakes – the important passage highlighted -. «Joining The Wilde means joining a dynamic, vibrant community of members that celebrates cultural diversity and reflects the cosmopolitan spirit of Milan», Gary Landesberg tells Gentleman, also emphasizing another aspect of the club, the alternation of exclusive evenings of theater, music and art, private dinners with chefs, cultural workshops, private visits to galleries… The cost? A joining fee of 1,250 euros and then 4,000 euros per year, with a democratic discount reserved for those under 40. Always, however, provided that you manage to be admitted, given that the waiting list seems to have become very long. Anyone can apply, but, as in all exclusive clubs, it`s better if you are recommended by a member, or a very-exclusive member`.
