Speaking to `Il Messaggero Veneto`, former Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino offered his thoughts on the club`s current season, just before their league match against Juventus.
Marino commented, “It would be wrong to compare this season`s survival to last year`s last-day escape. While some are calling this an extraordinary season and reaching 48 points as a great success, I personally don`t see a significant difference compared to [coach Gabriele] Sottil`s first season in charge.”
Asked if the Udinese squad is capable of finishing 8th or 9th in the league, he confirmed, “I stand by that. This is a very interesting, strong, and competitive squad across all positions. Given the quality of this team, I actually consider the results this season to be `low profile`.”
