Manchester City has paid lasting tribute to Kevin De Bruyne by unveiling a new mosaic and dedicating a street at the club`s academy in honor of the Belgian midfielder. De Bruyne is expected to depart the club in June. The mosaic, located near a training field at the City Football Academy, depicts De Bruyne celebrating a goal and was presented to the player today by club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak. This artwork, created by local Manchester artist and City supporter Mark Kennedy, is the latest in a series recognizing City legends including Yaya Touré, Joe Hart, David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Sergio Agüero, Fernandinho, and Ilkay Gundogan. Additionally, the road linking the academy to the first-team facilities has been officially renamed Kevin De Bruyne Crescent.
The Belgian international, for whom a free transfer move to Napoli from July is being discussed, has scored 108 goals in 420 appearances for City since arriving from German club Wolfsburg in 2015. During his decade-long tenure, the 33-year-old De Bruyne became City`s most successful player, having won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
