Luca Reggiani Signs Professional Contract with Borussia Dortmund After Bundesliga Debut Goal

Barely a week after netting his first Bundesliga goal, Luca Reggiani has another significant reason to celebrate: Borussia Dortmund has awarded the Italian U19 international a professional contract. The club announced on Friday that the agreement is «long-term,» though specific details regarding its duration were not disclosed.

«We were completely convinced by Luca’s abilities when we brought him here about two years ago,» stated Sporting Director Lars Ricken. «His professional debut a few weeks ago was a testament to Luca’s development. We will continue this successful journey together.» Dortmund’s Sports Director Sebastian Kehl further praised Reggiani, noting his «great foundations, a lot of quality, and immense potential.»

Reggiani’s Rapid Ascent: Bundesliga and Champions League Debuts

Reggiani initially joined BVB’s youth academy from US Sassuolo in early 2024. His professional debut came on February 7th this year, followed shortly by his first appearance in the Champions League. Last weekend, he scored his inaugural Bundesliga goal in a 2-0 victory against FC Augsburg.

«I am very, very happy. When I came to BVB two years ago, it was my dream to play in the Signal Iduna Park,» said the 18-year-old. «I will continue to train hard every day, listen to those who help me improve, and always give my best.»
