Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka has commented on his future, stating he is content at the club. Speaking from the Slovakia national team training camp ahead of upcoming friendlies, the 30-year-old addressed his situation.
«I feel good at Napoli, I have a contract, we won the Scudetto, and Conte has stayed,» Lobotka said. «If I were to leave, it would only be for a better place; the market is long.»
Lobotka, who joined Napoli in January 2020 and was a vital part of the team that won the Scudetto, suggested that while he is under contract until June 2027, he wouldn`t entirely rule out a move later in his career if a compelling opportunity arose.
He also provided an update on his physical condition after missing the final two matches of the season due to injury. «Physically, I feel better and can walk, but I haven`t run since I got injured with Napoli. I`ll have an MRI tomorrow for more information,» he explained. «The season was very demanding, and the last games were also mentally tough because I couldn`t be on the field with my teammates.»
Discussing his recovery progress, Lobotka added, «It`s currently difficult for me to assess the status of my recovery. I haven`t run, and I`m not sure about the actual condition of my ankle.» He then light-heartedly noted, «I must say, though, it certainly held up during the celebrations! The atmosphere was incredible, as were the celebrations.»
Lobotka concluded by reflecting on Napoli`s historic achievement: «I`m still trying to process what we achieved. The emotion I felt is indescribable.»
