ROME, MARCH 29 – Lazio coach Marco Baroni stated, “Criticism is part of the job and is useful when it is substantiated. I have taken this aspect as leverage for our work. It should be used to have a good end to the season.” He said this two days before the match against Torino, responding to questions about the criticism received after the heavy defeat against Bologna.
He then commented on yesterday`s meeting with president Lotito and the club management: “I saw him yesterday, he was having lunch with other people, we were together for 20 minutes. There is a daily discussion with the sporting director and Bianchi, there was nothing different.”
Regarding the possibility that the club asked him to implement more squad rotation, Baroni clarified, “The club has not made any requests to me. We have always worked towards this solution, and the players who have arrived now are also more ready.”
Finally, about the difficulties encountered recently compared to the beginning of the season, he said: “We look at the numbers, we start from a positive analysis. I told the team that we are entering the most important phase, we know what we have done, but we must think game by game. The most important thing is that I have confidence in the team. Today I prefer to do analysis to gain confidence, not skepticism. I`m not going to list all the factors now, because then it sounds like excuses. I don`t want them, and neither does the team. We are thinking about Torino, they have lost only once in the last 12 games, we will need the best Lazio possible.”
