Franco Ordine, in his column for Il Giornale, discusses the 5,000 euro fine imposed by the FIGC on Lautaro Martinez for blasphemy uttered after the Juventus-Inter match. Ordine notes that the federal prosecutor Chinè, after a two-week investigation, found evidence of the blasphemy in “official” television images.
This “discovery” led to the discreet investigation of the Inter captain, who, advised by a sports justice code expert, chose to plea bargain, effectively admitting guilt. Ordine reflects on several points: 1) almost two months passed between the blasphemy and the sanction, making a suspension impractical; 2) the initial lack of audio in the images remains technically unexplained, and the search for complete footage was delayed; 3) Lautaro, who denied the incident and even invoked his children, has damaged his public image through this affair.
