Khephren Thuram on Serie A, Racism, and Family

`Khephren

In a recent interview with La Stampa, Khephren Thuram shared his thoughts on various topics. He mentioned, “I`m not sure if my father told Tudor he could slap me if needed, but I`ve never required it.”

Addressing racism, Thuram stated, “It`s crucial to stand against it and speak out. Staying silent to diminish the importance of those who behave this way is pointless. Every incident must be brought to light. This is the only way to establish a collective sense of shame and encourage rejection. These are unacceptable acts of brutality. At Juve, there are frequent discussions on the best ways to combat racism, and we need to find effective communication and strong reactions.”

Regarding Serie A, he commented, “It`s a top-level league, and that`s what we are looking for. We fit in well here. My brother speaks Italian perfectly, and I am improving. The matches are different and unique – much more tactical than elsewhere, a game that highlights intelligence. The Thuram family is comfortable here. Moreover, Turin has filled me with love. Serie A is a high-level championship, which is what we seek. We fit in well here, my brother speaks Italian fluently, I`m improving, and the matches are different. Turin has filled me with love, while in France, people are focused on themselves. As the younger brother, it`s not my place to provoke. Marcus is proud of me, and I am happy for him. Our father is really pleased to see us both performing at our best. Before becoming competitive, I need to win something; if I try now, I`ll be surpassed. I can reassure Tudor: I`ve never needed a slap.”
