
The Milan Stock Exchange concluded with a slight increase, standing out in a day marked by a broad downturn across European markets. The primary index, Ftse Mib, rose by 0.1%, reaching 39,098 points, a notable result given the overall European context.
European markets faced a challenging day, with Frankfurt experiencing a 0.7% decrease due to concerns over new American tariffs on the automotive sector. Paris also saw a decline of 0.51%, followed by London with a 0.27% drop. Madrid was also affected by the instability, ending the session with a slight decrease of 0.07%.
The yield spread between Italian and German government bonds closed at 110.8 basis points, slightly above the opening value of 110. Concurrently, the ten-year Italian bond yield settled at 3.87%, showing a minor decrease from the previous session`s 3.89%.
In currency markets, the Euro marginally strengthened against the US Dollar, reaching 1.08. Gold performed better, increasing by 1.03%. Crude oil (Light Sweet Crude Oil) prices remained stable at $69.6 per barrel.
On Piazza Affari, the automotive sector felt external pressures, with Stellantis shares falling by 4.23% due to tariffs. Conversely, Ferrari demonstrated resilience, rising by 1.82% after announcing price increases of up to 10% in the USA and reaffirming its 2025 targets. Among other stocks, Buzzi decreased by 4.08%, while Tenaris fell by 2.08%. Campari and Cucinelli also showed weakness, declining by 1.78% and 1.73% respectively.
Among the positive performers, Tim shares gained a robust 4.69%, marking one of the best performances of the day. Nexi and Inwit also closed positively, with gains of 2.06% and 1.91% respectively. Prysmian recovered ground, increasing by 1.54%, while Poste Italiane rose by 0.55%.
In the FTSE MidCap, Cembre stood out with a 3.00% increase, followed by TXT E-solutions (+2.65%), Pharmanutra (+2.56%), and The Italian Sea Group (+2.46%). Conversely, GVS experienced a significant downturn, closing down 12.58%. Juventus saw a notable decrease of 4.73%, influenced by selling after the previous day`s rise, while RCS closed down 3.69%. Mfe lost 0.23% and Mfe B lost 2.11%, concluding a day of mixed market performance.
