Alberto Aquilani, head coach of Sassuolo, analyzed the team's 2-1 loss to Monza, a result that gave Monza their first league win. Speaking to Sky Sport, Aquilani addressed the team's performance and the role of Sebastiano Esposito.
"Esposito is used to playing close to another forward, but he also has the qualities to play as the lone striker we need," Aquilani stated. "We played well, especially in the first half. We created a lot but lacked the sharpness to make it count. Matches are decided by key moments, and we could have managed those better."
Aquilani Explains Adzic's Bench Role
The post-match discussion also touched upon the decision to start Adzic on the bench, despite his goal against Juventus. The midfielder came on in the second half and scored Sassuolo's second goal from a free-kick.
"I make decisions based on the full ninety minutes. Today, Thorstvedt could offer more in a more physical game, and he came on and helped us significantly," Aquilani explained.

Aquilani shared his thoughts on returning to Serie A as a coach.
"It's a difficult league. Football is changing, and the new rules suggest a shift from what I was accustomed to. My coaching journey has helped me; I was fortunate to make certain choices," he said.
