Lazio's Comeback Victory Over Frosinone, Zaccagni Scores Brace
Lazio concluded their pre-season campaign with another victory, their sixth in as many friendlies. This time, the Biancocelesti managed to overcome Frosinone, coming from behind as they did against Ascoli. Mattia Zaccagni's brace responded to the initial lead taken by Calò.
Coach Gattuso opted to start Dia alongside Cancellieri and Zaccagni, leaving Ratkov on the bench. Frosinone's coach Alvini countered with a front three of Kvernadze, Raimondo, and Fini.
Frosinone took the lead in the 12th minute through Calò, who found the net from close range past Mandas. Lazio responded with determination. Zaccagni equalized, capitalizing on a cross from Marusic on the right flank to score and level the score at 1-1 going into halftime.
In the second half, Lazio continued to press. Rovella attempted a free-kick that was saved by Palmisani, and a header from substitute Ratkov also tested the Frosinone defense. The decisive moment came late in the match with a penalty awarded for a foul by Zerbin on Lazzari. Zaccagni converted the spot-kick, securing the victory for his team.
Lazio's next fixture will be in the Coppa Italia against Mantova on August 16th at 9:15 PM at the Stadio Olimpico. On the same day, Frosinone will also compete in the Coppa Italia against Juve Stabia.
