Catanzaro Intensifies Efforts for Juventus Striker Pecorino

Catanzaro is speeding up their search for a new center-forward, identifying Emanuele Pecorino from Juventus as their primary target to strengthen the offensive department. According to La Gazzetta del Sud, Sporting Director Ciro Polito is actively working to bring the Juventus-owned striker to Calabria.

Catanzaro Accelerates Pursuit of Pecorino

Pecorino's name emerged as an early option after the Pittarello situation became complicated. In the meantime, the club has also considered other profiles, including Alvin Okoro from Venezia. However, in recent hours, the Sicilian striker has gained significant traction.

Negotiations have reportedly brought the parties closer, although a few more steps are needed before the operation can be considered complete. Polito aims to expedite the process and hopes to finalize the deal soon.

Di Nardo Too Costly, Pecorino Emerges as Alternative

The initial preference for coach Gorgone, Polito, and the management was Antonio Di Nardo. However, Pescara's demands have made this transfer very difficult. The Abruzzese club values the forward at 3 million euros, or 2.5 million plus bonuses, figures deemed beyond Catanzaro's budget.

This has led to a focus on alternative solutions, with Pecorino considered a particularly suitable profile for the team's technical requirements.

The 2001-born player, standing at 1.92 meters, possesses physical characteristics similar to Pittarello, combined with technical skills that allow him to fulfill various offensive roles. He can play as a central focal point, hold up the ball to facilitate team advancement, and attack open spaces. These attributes would make him functional in both a 3-4-2-1 and a 3-4-3 formation.

Pecorino Coming Off His Best Serie B Season

The 25-year-old striker from Catania is under contract with Juventus until June 30, 2027, and is once again available for transfer after previous loan spells in past seasons.
