Juve-Udinese: Head-to-Head Preview

`Juventus

Juventus` official website provides a breakdown of the key head-to-head statistics ahead of the Bianconeri`s Serie A match against Udinese.

HEAD TO HEAD

Here are some key numbers comparing the two sides:

Juventus have won seven of their last eight home Serie A fixtures (one draw), a significant improvement after securing only two victories in the preceding nine home games (seven draws).

Juventus has recorded a new club record of 16 draws in a single Serie A season during the three-points-for-a-win era (since 1994/95). Historically, they only drew more matches in the 1955/56 campaign (17), having also reached 16 draws in 1965/66.

Udinese have suffered six defeats in their last eight league outings (one win, one draw) – equalling the number of losses from their previous 18 matches (six wins, six draws). Since mid-March, no other Serie A side has lost as many games as Udinese (Monza also has six defeats in this period).

Currently fourth in the standings with 64 points (level with Lazio, holding the head-to-head advantage), Juventus can mathematically secure Champions League qualification with a match remaining if they defeat Udinese, provided Lazio and Roma also lose and Bologna fails to win.

Over the past 40 years, Udinese has not managed to finish a first half in Serie A leading Juventus by more than one goal. The last instance occurred on April 21, 1984, when they led 2-1 at halftime before ultimately losing the match 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
