Inzaghi: “The Last Throw-in Was Taken 12 Meters Forward, It’s Not Right”

Simone Inzaghi shared his thoughts after Bologna defeated Inter 1-0. He stated, “There was frustration regarding the final throw-in, which was taken 12-13 meters ahead of where it should have been. This is a clear fact. We should have defended better on that last throw-in; we shouldn`t have both jumped for the ball, only one player should have challenged. It was a difficult game, and the referee tried to officiate as best as possible, and I believe he did. However, a throw-in that is supposed to be near my feet ended up being taken in front of Bologna`s technical area.”

He added, “But this shouldn`t be an excuse; we needed to be more composed. We are disappointed because we put in a lot of energy, and it`s upsetting to lose in this manner.”

Inzaghi continued, “I tried to show them how we conceded the goal, emphasizing the need for better defending. They also saw that the throw-in was taken 12 meters forward, which is unacceptable. However, they are great professionals and men, and they will understand the need to react and defend more effectively. We hope to have Thuram, Zielinski, and Dumfries back soon, especially since we had two players at risk of suspension who were booked immediately. Bastoni and Mkhitaryan will miss the Roma game and will likely return for Wednesday`s match. We will try to speed up the recovery for the others. The league doesn`t end in Bologna; we need to remain calm. We must accept conceding goals like this.”
