Inzaghi: “Second Half Better Than First, Milan’s Goal Was Fortuitous. My Dream is a Full Squad”

`Inzaghi:

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi spoke to Mediaset microphones about the draw against Milan in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. Here are his comments:

What`s your assessment of the match?

“It was a derby game. We could have taken the lead in the first half, and then in the second half, we started well, and their goal was probably a bit lucky. The second half was better than the first; we created a lot against a strong team. It was a derby with a lot of effort, tonight we were only 14 players available. The guys were excellent; their first goal was a very fortunate deflection. After the goal, the team didn`t fall apart, and we played a second half where Maignan was outstanding.”

How do you see the draw for the return leg?

“We weren`t making calculations, but we knew there would be a return leg where we hope to have more options. Dimarco and Arnautovic moved a bit this morning, but with the medical staff, we decided not to risk them, considering we are playing in Parma in 48 hours.”

How will you manage the next month?

“We`ve reached this month with great pride, always playing with commitment. My dream as a coach is to have everyone available. We are waiting for those who need to return and look forward with confidence. They show a willingness and dedication that makes me proud to be their coach.”

Do Correa and Thuram still need to work to play together?

“They did well, they played together in Verona and did great things. It`s a pairing I like; they complement each other. Correa sacrificed a lot; they knew they had to manage their strength because we didn`t have attacking substitutions.”
