Inter coach Simone Inzaghi spoke to Sky ahead of the crucial Champions League semi-final second leg match against Barcelona.
Addressing the fitness of key striker Lautaro Martinez, Inzaghi confirmed his availability. “Yesterday he had a good training session; the feeling was positive,” Inzaghi stated. “It was just soreness, not a strain, and he completed the final session very well. He had a good muscular warm-up today. He is our captain, and it`s right that he plays tonight.”
When asked about managing the threat posed by Barcelona`s young talent, Lamine Yamal, Inzaghi emphasized the importance of a collective effort. “We will need to be very good, work together as a team, and perform just as well as we did in the first leg,” he explained. “They have very important players; we will try to limit them as much as possible.”
Concluding with a statement on his belief in the team`s chances, Inzaghi expressed strong confidence. “Very much,” he said regarding how much he believes. “We`ve had a fantastic journey so far. The first leg ended in a draw, and now we hope to deliver a dream scenario for our supporters. We will try with all our strength to achieve it.”
