The participation of Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic in the upcoming German national team fixtures is uncertain due to an injury concern.
Christoph Freund, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, confirmed discussions are underway regarding Pavlovic’s availability. «We will discuss this,» Freund stated after Bayern’s 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Union Berlin.
The 22-year-old, who missed Saturday’s match because of hip discomfort, has «played a great deal recently and complained of pain today,» Freund explained. He added, «It would be detrimental for all parties if he were to suffer a more serious injury. We need to proceed cautiously.»
Pavlovic had been nominated by national coach Julian Nagelsmann for the upcoming international break. The German national team is scheduled to face Switzerland in Basel on March 27 and Ghana in Stuttgart three days later as part of their initial World Cup year test matches.
Earlier in the week, Pavlovic had also been substituted due to an injury during the Champions League match against Atalanta Bergamo, which Bayern won 4-1.
