Eduardo Camavinga and Michael Olise are teammates for the French national squad. However, this Tuesday, they will face each other with their respective clubs in one of the year’s biggest matches.
The upcoming Champions League quarter-final showdown between FC Bayern and Real Madrid was a topic of discussion within the French national team during the international break, featuring a rather fierce declaration aimed at FCB star Michael Olise.
His compatriot Eduardo Camavinga playfully revealed what he had warned Bayern’s superstar: «I told my friend Olise: ‘Right now we are friends, but in two weeks, if I have to kill you, I will.'»
When further questioned about how to manage Bayern’s offense, which includes Olise and top striker Harry Kane, Camavinga responded: «We have to play as we always do. If I have to kick them, then I will kick them. It’s them or me – and I don’t want to lose.»
Sami Khedira Raves About Michael Olise

Should the 23-year-old (Camavinga) take the field against Munich, he would likely be challenging Bayern’s right winger Olise. Playing either in central midfield or on the left defensive flank for the Blancos (Real Madrid), he would face a significant challenge. Olise is in superb form: this season, he has contributed 16 goals and 27 assists in 39 competitive matches.
Former Real Madrid professional Sami Khedira is also highly impressed. The 2014 World Cup winner enthused that «with Michael Olise, Bayern currently has probably the best winger in the world.»
Speculation that Real might be eyeing the 24-year-old (Olise) is understandable to him: «It would be very surprising if Real were not seriously considering Olise. He fits the club’s philosophy. Real doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on established old stars but rather invest in developing players who still have at least six to eight years of playing time ahead.»
Therefore, the overall package of the former Crystal Palace player is considered ‘top-tier’.
Olise’s highly anticipated appearance at the Bernabeu will take place on Tuesday evening in the first leg of the Champions League. Eight days later, the Allianz Arena will determine which of the two title contenders secures a spot in the semi-finals. There, the winner will await the victor of another exciting quarter-final matchup.
