Viktor Gyökeres` future appears to be away from Sporting CP. The Swedish forward, who had an exceptional season in Portugal, is at the center of transfer rumors and attracting interest from top European clubs. Manchester United is reportedly leading the race to sign the 1998-born striker.

After shining for Coventry City, Gyökeres truly broke out at Sporting CP, establishing himself as one of the most prolific strikers in the Primeira Liga, the league that launched stars like Cristiano Ronaldo. His performances have caught the eye of major clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Atlético Madrid, but the Old Trafford club is in pole position.

Viktor Gyökeres has reportedly already given his approval to a move to Manchester United. The Swedish international, who has 26 senior caps, is keen to reunite with Rúben Amorim, his current coach at Sporting, who has also been linked with the Red Devils` managerial job.

Official negotiations between Sporting CP and Manchester United have not yet begun, but the asking price has reportedly been set at 70 million euros. If the deal goes through, Gyökeres would follow in the footsteps of other forwards who have played for both clubs, such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.

An eventual transfer of Gyökeres to Manchester United would be one of the most significant moves of the summer 2025 transfer window.
