Golf Legend Tiger Woods Involved in Florida Car Accident, Faces DUI Charges

Golf legend Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident in Florida and subsequently arrested. Authorities announced on Friday that the American golf star faces charges of driving under the influence (DUI).

Woods, who remained uninjured in the incident in his hometown of Jupiter Island, had struck a truck with his vehicle before it overturned. A press conference by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office was scheduled for 11:00 PM CET to provide further information.

The crash occurred shortly after 2:00 PM local time. This is not the 50-year-old’s first car accident; in 2021, Woods suffered severe leg injuries in California during a multiple rollover incident. The 15-time major winner subsequently underwent several surgeries as a result.

Woods had recently attempted a comeback in the TGL indoor league and had not ruled out participating in the Masters (starting April 9) in Georgia. He continues to struggle with the aftermath of a spinal disc operation last October, which marked his seventh back procedure. Furthermore, Woods’ Achilles tendon was reportedly torn in March 2025, and he has not competed in a tournament since the British Open in summer 2024.
