Former striker Maurizio Ganz recently spoke to Sky Sport during a padel event in Milan. He reflected on the thrilling 1999 Scudetto race, which his AC Milan side won in a tight finish, similar to the current league season. Ganz, who scored crucial goals that year, described it as “an incredible year, with a crazy emotion. We had to win in Perugia and we managed it; it was a crazy emotion.”
Asked if Napoli`s potential Scudetto title would be deserved:
“It would be deserved, although in my opinion, Inter is the strongest team. Napoli surprised everyone this season. The added value [referring to player development/previous work] was undoubtedly Conte. He brought out incredible players, some of whom were perhaps unknown until recently. Inzaghi [current Inter coach] still had an extraordinary year and can aim for an important goal like the Champions League. I also congratulate him.”
On Juventus` chances of qualifying for the Champions League:
“This season is enjoyable to watch; everything has happened in the last few weeks. Right now, only Juventus could miss out on the Champions League.”
