Brazilian media outlets are reporting that a deal is finalized: Davide Ancelotti will be the new head coach of Botafogo. He could potentially lead his first training session as early as this week.
The 35-year-old, son of famed coach Carlo Ancelotti whom he has assisted for several years, including recently with the Brazilian national team, this role will be Davide`s inaugural experience as a head coach. He is stepping into the position previously held by Renato Paiva, who left the club following their elimination in the Club World Cup against Palmeiras.
According to the Brazilian newspaper O` Globo, “the parties reached an agreement on Sunday, and the 35-year-old Italian is anticipated to arrive in Rio de Janeiro within the next few days. While he is expected to begin work this week, it is considered unlikely that he will be on the bench for the match against Vasco next Saturday.”
