FIGC Achieves Strong Financial Results in 2024 Despite Euro 2024 Setback

The FIGC (Italian Football Federation) Federal Council has officially approved the 2024 final budget, following its prior endorsement by the Presidency Committee. According to details presented by the General Secretary, the fiscal year concluding on December 31st recorded a positive financial outcome with a profit of 2 million euros and a total production value reaching 224 million euros.

This performance reflects a significant revenue increase of 12.5 million euros compared to 2023. The 224 million euros figure places the total revenue just slightly below the federation`s historical peak of 229.5 million euros, which was achieved in 2021 primarily due to the prize money received from winning the European Championship. Looking at expenditures, costs dedicated to sports activities amounted to 146 million euros, while operating costs for the period totaled 50 million euros.

Remarkably, the FIGC successfully consolidated its financial position in 2024 despite facing a historically low level of contributions from Sport e Salute and experiencing an economically disappointing outcome at Euro 2024. This resilience is attributed in part to the effective management and operational activities across various internal structures. Supporting this positive result were factors such as over 4 million euros generated from financial income and robust commercial activities that facilitated numerous projects, including important initiatives focused on social sustainability.

As reiterated in the federal council, this is a historical record for the federation in terms of production value. It is the result of cross-sectional planning within the federal structure. It demonstrates that maximizing competitive sports results cannot always be the sole benchmark for the FIGC`s development. Our planning is a tangible sign of a modern federation.
