FC Bayern Munich has awarded a professional contract to promising talent David Santos Daiber. The Portuguese U19 international has signed with the club until 2030.
Santos Daiber joined Bayern’s youth academy in 2016 from the Munich district club TSV Milbertshofen. He celebrated his professional debut last December and has since made another appearance for Vincent Kompany’s team.
Sporting Director Christoph Freund praised him, stating, «He is a game-intelligent, ball-secure, and extremely reliable midfielder.» Freund emphasized, «We expect a lot from him,» adding that Santos Daiber has «made a huge developmental leap through regular training with the professionals in recent months.»
Although he was part of Bayern’s squad for the Club World Cup last summer, he did not feature in any matches. He has made six appearances for Portugal’s U19 national team and, with the U17 squad (ten appearances), reached the final of the U17 European Championship in 2024, where they lost 0-3 to Italy.
