Sporting Director Christoph Freund has addressed the speculation surrounding FC Bayern Munich’s interest in a rising Bundesliga talent and clarified the reasons for Raphael Guerreiro’s departure. This report covers the latest news and rumors concerning FCB.
FC Bayern Munich News: Freund Reacts to Kofane Rumors

Bayern Munich’s Sporting Director Christoph Freund commented on reports of alleged contact between the German record champions and Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane.
«There are always discussions in various directions, or conversations within the market. However, we have no concrete statements on this. We do not participate in speculation or anything similar,» Freund explained at the press conference before FCB’s match against SC Freiburg.
Freund reiterated that FC Bayern will not provide «statements or status reports» on current transfer rumors. «So we will not do so here either,» he added.
Previously, Kofane’s agent, Eric Depolo, had stated that several top European clubs, including FC Bayern, were interested in his client. Arsenal, in particular, was said to be keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old.
The three-time Cameroon international joined Leverkusen from Spanish club Albacete Balompie at the start of the season for approximately five million euros, signing a contract until 2029.
In 39 competitive matches to date, he has scored seven goals and provided eight assists across all competitions. His market value has since significantly increased and currently stands at around 40 million euros. However, his agent values him much higher: «He is a 100-million-euro player. With Kofane, Arsenal would have a top striker for the next ten years.»

U19 head coach Peter Gaydarov is reportedly set to leave his position at FC Bayern Munich after the current season.
Reports indicate that the 34-year-old has received inquiries from professional clubs both domestically and internationally, making his departure from the German record champions quite possible.
Gaydarov enjoys an excellent reputation at Säbener Straße. In recent times, he has been instrumental in developing talents such as Felipe Chavez, Deniz Ofli, and David Santos Daiber.
FC Bayern Munich News: Freund Explains Guerreiro’s Departure

Raphael Guerreiro will depart FC Bayern Munich at the end of the current season. Sporting Director Christoph Freund explained the reasons behind this decision.
«It wasn’t easy because he’s a great guy, played many good games, and is very versatile – a major strength of his. We always said that if we make a decision, we will tell the boys, which is why we informed him now. We have our ideas for how the squad will look in the summer, but there’s still a bit of time until then,» Freund stated at the press conference before the German record champions’ match against Freiburg.
Bayern announced last Monday that Guerreiro’s contract, which expires after the season, would not be extended. Consequently, the versatile Portuguese player will leave Munich after three years with the club.
Guerreiro joined Bayern in the summer of 2023 as a free agent from BVB, a player specifically desired by then-coach Thomas Tuchel. While he did get playing time at the German record champions, he could not consistently replicate his peak performances from his Dortmund era. Recently, he was rarely featured under Vincent Kompany and mostly found himself on the substitutes’ bench.
Possible future clubs mentioned include Portuguese top club Benfica or Italian record champions Juventus Turin.
FC Bayern Munich News: Eberl Reveals Approach on Kane’s Contract

Max Eberl has commented on Harry Kane’s current contract situation, giving fans of the German record champions hope for an extension of his contract, which runs until 2027.
«I see him, I feel him. He feels – to put it casually – extremely comfortable,» Eberl said in an interview. He added that the striker is «winning titles with the team, also receiving personal awards, and breaking records en masse. His appreciation has grown even more significantly in his home country England since his move to FC Bayern.»
The FCB Sporting Executive therefore has a positive feeling that discussions about an early extension will be held «in the summer.»
FC Bayern Munich News: Eberl Hopes for Musiala’s Top Form at World Cup

Bayern Munich’s Sporting Executive Max Eberl firmly believes that national player Jamal Musiala will return to his best form before the FIFA World Cup.
«We give him peace and trust, signaling serenity so that he can be free in his mind,» Eberl stated in an interview. «And if he soon creates another golden moment when he comes into the game, the injury will be forgotten in a blink of an eye.»
Eberl described the fibula fracture and ankle dislocation Musiala (23) suffered at the Club World Cup last summer as «an extreme impact.» He noted, «We knew that the return process would take time. This time is necessary, physically and psychologically, even if it feels incredibly long.» He added that the «small setback against Bergamo» is part of it, «it goes in waves, up and down.»
Musiala celebrated his comeback in January but recently missed the German national team’s start to the World Cup year against Switzerland and Ghana. National coach Julian Nagelsmann, however, is not yet concerned about the tournament in the USA, Mexico, and Canada (June 11 to July 19). «He doesn’t have much time left, that’s unquestionable,» Nagelsmann admitted, but added: «I trust him to get to 100 percent.»
Eberl also commented: «What’s important is that Jamal himself wants to reach 100 percent. The excitement is also growing for him; he puts the most pressure on himself.» Musiala wants to «deliver his performance, show his abilities – to help us first, and then German football at the World Cup. He has enough time for that.»
On Monday, Musiala resumed parts of team training at FC Bayern after a short forced break due to an «irritation» in his ankle and is expected to be an option for the Champions League quarter-final matches against Real Madrid (April 7 and 15).
