Everton Sign Carlos Alcaraz Permanently

Everton has completed the permanent signing of Argentine midfielder Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo.

The 22-year-old initially joined the Toffees on loan in January 2024. Following a productive spell in the second half of the season, Everton opted to exercise their purchase option. During his loan, Alcaraz made 16 appearances for the club, including 7 starts, contributing five goals (scoring two and assisting three).

Alcaraz has signed a contract with Everton that runs until June 2027. The transfer fee was not disclosed.

Prior to his move to Everton, Alcaraz played for several clubs. He started at Racing Club in Argentina before joining Southampton in January 2023, where he scored seven goals in his first season and was called up to the senior Argentina national team. He also had a brief loan spell at Juventus in January 2024, where he won the Coppa Italia. In August 2023, he joined Flamengo, making 19 appearances, scoring three goals, assisting two, and winning the Copa do Brasil, before his loan move to Everton.
