The 2022 World Cup winner has recently been non-committal about his future. Following a 0-3 defeat in the Champions League Round of 16 against Paris Saint-Germain, he was quoted saying, ‘My future at the club? I don’t know,’ and added, ‘Right now, I’m fully focused on Chelsea. We will see what happens after the World Cup.’
At Chelsea, Fernandez has long established himself as a key figure in midfield, whether playing as a number eight or in a more attacking role.
