Rebecca Corsi, Empoli`s vice president, spoke to the Corriere di Bologna about the upcoming Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Bologna. She also reflected on the remarkable win in Turin against Juventus, stating: “It was a tremendous satisfaction, made even more special by having four youth team players on the pitch.”
Regarding these young players and the possibility of them starting against Bologna, Corsi added: “The coach will make the choices. Looking at their journey, I can say that these guys have responded excellently when called upon, and if we`ve reached this semi-final, it`s also thanks to them.”
Finally, about their next Coppa Italia opponents and the historic evening ahead, she concluded: “We approach it knowing it`s a historic night for our club, and we want to play our game. It comes at a crucial point in the season, with many important matches for us. We will face it with the same spirit we`ve always approached the Coppa, with lightheartedness, courage, and above all, without pressure for a result. Empoli is a difficult opponent for many teams, not just Bologna, against whom we drew twice, perhaps deserving something more. But that`s the past, and tomorrow we`ll need a great performance against a Bologna side that is doing extraordinary things, growing steadily over the years, without losing their identity. And last season, they achieved something unthinkable.”
