CAGLIARI, APRIL 1ST – Travel for Rossoblu fans has been prohibited for Sunday`s crucial relegation clash between Empoli and Cagliari. As indicated by the Observatory for Sporting Events and assessed by the Casms security analysis committee, ticket sales are currently banned to residents of Sardinia, even those holding the Cagliari Calcio `Passione Casteddu` fan card. There is still some hope: the measure could be confirmed or modified by Casms, which might introduce the requirement of a fan card for residents of Sardinia or remove the residency restriction altogether. This is what many Sardinian fans are hoping for, as they were ready to purchase tickets to attend a vital match in Cagliari`s fight to avoid relegation.

Residents outside of Sardinia, even those without the club`s fan card, can still regularly purchase tickets (sales began at 4 PM today) until 7 PM on Saturday, April 5th. In any case, it will not be possible to purchase tickets for the away sector of the Carlo Castellani stadium on Sunday, the day of the match. Meanwhile, Cagliari, following their victory against Monza on Sunday, have resumed training in Assemini: all players are regularly in the group except for Obert, who is still on a personalized training schedule.
