Roma forward and former Juventus player, Paulo Dybala, recently spoke in an interview on the YouTube channel of Argentine journalists Gaston and Esteban Edul. The 1993-born player shared his thoughts on his current injury, the continuation of his career, and his compatriot Matias Soulé.
Regarding his injury, Dybala stated: “Initially, when I learned how long I`d be out, it was tough because I missed playing for the national team, and we had important matches here at Roma. Everything was going very well; I felt physically fit and was experiencing one of my best periods of the year. The injury felt like a cold shower, but I`ve processed it now and am working to return as soon as possible. Knowing I was going to be back with the national team was wonderful. Being there helps me, and having to give it up kills me. I prepare all year to play those few games we have. I`m keeping the door open for a return to Argentina, but I don`t know yet.”
Dybala also mentioned pressure from Leandro Paredes: “Paredes is pushing me to go to Boca. The truth is, I still don`t know what I`ll do in the future. It also depends on my work and family.”
Speaking about Matias Soulé, who is currently on loan from Juventus at Frosinone, Dybala was full of praise: “Soulé is doing well. It`s not easy to adapt to a club like that, but he has so much quality. The Rome derby was incredible. During the warm-up, I had told him to open up his foot a bit when shooting. The credit for the goal is his, but I did give him that tip. He was close to scoring another one too, but he missed it.”
