Former striker Arturo Di Napoli recently shared his thoughts on Inter`s performance and the Serie A title race during an appearance on TMW Radio`s program, Maracanà.
Inter: How do you assess the refereeing against Lazio?
“Ultimately, refereeing advantages and disadvantages always tend to balance out. What I`m saying is, yes, this was a lost game. They had the opportunity to get back ahead and didn`t seize it. It`s understandable that tension might prevent speaking afterwards, but clearly, it was a missed opportunity.”
So, was the Scudetto thrown away?
“Given how it went, yes, because they must take responsibility for the missed chance. They had a significant opportunity and didn`t secure it. I believe the statistics show that the benefits brought by Inzaghi to Inter are significant. He has generated substantial revenue for the club. Logically, he *could* have won two more Scudetti, but the style of play he instilled in this team should be remembered. Having said that, this is a lost Scudetto, perhaps even more surprising than the one lost against Milan.”
Anything else to add?
“I played in Napoli. For me, Cagliari won`t even step into the locker room on the final matchday.”
