Yet, with Neapolitan pride, he reminds us Napoli has always held its head high. Sure, apart from that small, negligible detail called the fictitious capital gains investigation. But ultimately, what`s the big deal? Selling players at surreal figures, who the day before were serving pizzas and coffee at the local bar, is now a legitimate art, right? And while ADL is indignant with poses of an upright statesman, he conveniently forgets certain skeletons in others` closets. Like the fake passports case (half of Serie A seemed to have come out of an episode of `The Registry Forgers`) or recent discussions involving Inter, because, you know, in Italy the line between administrative creativity and sports illicit is thinner than an offside line drawn by VAR. And then there`s her, the queen of all scandals: Calciopoli. A monument to football hypocrisy, where everyone professed to be victims and no one remembered calling an arbitrary designator `for a cordial greeting`. In short, De Laurentiis talking about honesty in football is a bit like Dracula giving lessons on donating blood: technically involved, but not in the way you`d expect. In the end, the only truly clear thing in this football are the fans` tears. And even those, sometimes, smell a bit like a farce. Regards.
