De Grandis: ‘Conte is Juventus’ primary target. Huijsen should not have been permanently sold’

Speaking on Sky Sport, Stefano De Grandis offered his perspective on Igor Tudor`s future at Juventus. He argued that the outcome of a single match shouldn`t be the deciding factor for a coach`s fate. De Grandis expressed his conviction that Tudor`s short-term contract, set to run only until the end of the current season, suggests the club is already looking at other names to take the helm.

De Grandis specifically mentioned Antonio Conte, stating that his name continues to be linked with the role and that, in his view, Conte represents the primary objective and a calculated gamble for Juventus. While acknowledging Tudor as a capable coach, De Grandis noted that results, coaching experience, and overall curriculum are ultimately what count in assessing a manager.

Regarding young defender Dean Huijsen, De Grandis questioned the club`s strategy. He contended that if a player is genuinely considered a promising prospect, as major clubs (including Juventus historically) do, they should not be sold on a permanent basis. Instead, promising talents should be kept under contract, with the possibility of bringing them back as they mature and develop. De Grandis recalled being impressed by Huijsen from his debut under Allegri at Juventus and also liked what he saw from him at Roma, despite acknowledging that, like many young players, he made some mistakes but also scored goals. He concluded that, in his estimation, Huijsen appeared to be a prospect worth monitoring closely, regardless of whether he was immediately penciled in as a starter.
