Davide Ancelotti to Continue Working with Father Carlo Until 2026 World Cup

Davide Ancelotti is expected to remain by his father Carlo`s side for at least another year. Just when it seemed like the perfect opportunity had arrived for him to embark on his solo coaching journey, the prospect of joining the Brazilian national team project proved too enticing to decline. Consequently, Ancelotti Jr. will accompany the veteran manager until the summer of 2026, when the FIFA World Cup will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Many had widely anticipated that this was finally the moment for Davide to take the significant step and try to forge his own path, moving out from his father`s considerable shadow. However, the sheer scale of the new challenge awaiting the former coach of Milan and Napoli, coupled with a perceived lack of truly major alternative opportunities, has led to the postponement of Davide`s ambition to start a new chapter in his career. According to reports from Onda Cero, Cesc Fábregas`s contract extension with Como was a key factor influencing this decision, which had reportedly been crystallizing over recent weeks. This means no move to Rangers, a club with whom Davide Ancelotti was previously believed to have reached an understanding.

Carlo Ancelotti plans to bring his entire core technical staff from his time at Valdebebas with him to Brazil. The notable exceptions are fitness coach Antonio Pintus and goalkeeper coach Luis Llopis, the latter of whom will continue his work with Xabi Alonso. The Ancelotti family is set to relocate to Rio de Janeiro, marking a significant move away from Europe, despite some initial hesitations regarding such a major life change. While there was earlier speculation that Ancelotti might maintain residences in Madrid or London, the nature of the Brazil commitment necessitates a more consistent and stable presence on the ground.
