In Flamengo`s victory against Juventude, which took place last night, Danilo celebrated his first goal wearing his new team`s jersey. The former Juventus defender also distinguished himself as the first player in the Brazilian league this season to complete 100 passes in a single match.
Flamengo coach Luis Felipe commented on Danilo`s performance, stating:
“It`s almost unnecessary to discuss the level of this player. You`ve seen it today, you`ve seen it with the national team, and throughout his career. His quality speaks for itself. You mentioned his 104 passes, 100 of which were successful, but what truly matters is how many of these passes were crucial – forward-moving, line-breaking passes that advanced us into the opponent`s area. Those are the passes I value, not just the total count. He`s a player who consistently chooses the right pass, the right play, which is incredibly important to me. He doesn`t opt for the most difficult option, but the correct one. Beyond his skills, he`s a leader, a person who acts like a captain, with a natural leadership that inspires many teammates. It truly is a privilege to have someone like him on the team.”
